Camas Boys JV basketball hosted league rival Skyview High School Tuesday, in their final matchup of the season. From the jump, Camas scored quickly to take an early lead. The first quarter saw both teams struggle to find any sustained stretches of offensive conversions. The quarter ended 9-8 in favor of Skyview.
The 2nd quarter offered continued offensive struggles for the Papermakers, as they went deep into their rotation, with all 13 active players, seeing extended playing time. Skyview dominated the boards, leading to second and third chance scoring opportunities. The Storm were able to hit a couple timely 3's, extending their lead, 26-17, going into the half.
Start of the 3rd quarter, Camas came out with (8) quick points, generated from increased defensive intensity, quick and effortless passing, all leading to transition buckets. Camas improved their play down the stretch, but failed to sustain the offensive production, as the Storm held a 7 point lead, 43-36, as the quarter came to a close.
The Papermakers lack of offensive production, continued midway through the 4th. Camas battled back, a couple of back to back turnovers, saw the Storm lead cut to 6. In the end, poor shooting by the Papermakers, combined with sustained offensive droughts and being out rebounded, 39-27, resulted in their 3rd consecutive loss.
