Camas Boys JV basketball resumed league play Monday, hosting the Battle Ground Tigers for their second meeting of the season. The Papermakers came out strong, controlling the pace early, using their opportunistic defense to create fast break scoring opportunities. Camas ended the first quarter with a 21-6 lead over the Tigers.
Heading into halftime, Camas maintained their lead, with a 33-17 advantage. Coming out with increased defensive intensity to start the 3rd quarter, Camas established their rebounding dominance, while also shutting down the Tiger passing lanes.
Leading the way for the Papermakers: Sophomore’s Gavin Clarke (20 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 blocks); Max Rehrer (13 points, 3 rebounds); Tanner Werry (9 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals, 3 assists); Kyle Lindberg (9 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals); Jude Iavicoli (9 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block); Brayden Yelverton (6 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, 1 block) and freshman Cason Thompson adding (10 points, 2 reb, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block).
The Papermakers won 74-39, extending their winning streak to 11 games.
